Like, if you can take anatomy, physiology, Microbiology , etc at a cc
Versus taking course like ornithology, biology of sex, biology of sensation and perception, etc at a 4 year

Assuming as a post-bac where one can go to either, what would be best?

And assuming you can't take those "med-school" like courses at 4 year because of no seats or something.

For DO it doesn't matter. Just do well in the courses. Although they won't be "med school like". Watered down versions.

Micro anatomy phys immunology embryology pharmacology are all good things to take if they interest you but they will not even be close to what you'll experience in medical school as the clinical integration is lacking in these courses that aren't taught by medical school faculty.

So, take what you find interesting.

IMO, if you are dead-set on D.O., I would attend the CC. Like the above posters have said, the courses you will take at CC/university are NOT going to med school level by any means, however I wish that I would have taken an immunology course before entering medical school. Anything you do before medical school will help purely because you will have seen the material before seeing it again in med school (but at a much more superficial level). One piece of advise I can give you though is just because you take a microbiology course at CC, please do not come into medical school assuming you are going to ace micro. This will only set you up for failure.

Thank you all for the advise!

Yeah, I know these courses whether at CC or Uni are not at all representative of what you would see in med school. I suppose a better phrasing of the question would be "physio-, or cell- bio courses at CC or eco-,health,or whatever at Uni". Regardless, I understand what each of you have said here.
