HI, I am currently doing my undergrad at Queen's. I'll be done in 1-2 years (depending on if I want to do a Master's in Biology or not).

I really want to go outside of Canada to finish my medical college schooling and training..(like Australia maybe)...There are +/- feedbacks about going outside Canada to do Med-School such as going to a developing country (india) vs. an already developed countria (australia)?

If I do finish my doctorate degree in Australia how hard is it to come back and what are the requirements to work as a doctor in Canada/?

From the research that I have done, it is VERY difficult to work as a doctor if you are educated outside of Canada. That's why - despite a major shortage of doctors - there are foreign trained physicians driving taxi cabs. It doesn't matter where you study - Britain, Australia, India, Carribean... It will be very difficult and competitive, and you may not be able to practise in Canada after graduating.

If you're planning on coming back to Canada, then you should study here, even though the medical schools are tougher to get into. I know that I don't want to leave my country permanently, so if I don't get into medical school in Canada, then I won't become a doctor.

If you're just looking for an exciting international experience, why not do a semester or a summer abroad during your undergrad? Just double check with med schools to make sure that a semester abroad won't affect your full-time student status (most Canadian medical schools won't count part-time years). Or maybe do your master's overseas, and then come back to Canada for your MD.

Actually the royal college has relaxed many of the previous difficulties to get back into Canada. Check their website, you will see many promising changes. Having personally gone to a foreign medical school, residency in US and now applying for licensure in ontario, I can tell you things are very much improved. But if you are competitive enough to go to a canadian medical school, you shouldn't pass that opportunity up.

I agree with this. They have relaxed some of the difficulties for IMGs to get back into Canada. But to reiterate, if you can get into a Canadian medical school you should go. I would try in Canada for a few years before considering going overseas.
