Sorry if this goes into MCAT Forum, but it's just on admission part, so I wanted to put here.

If the medical school says that the applicant's MCAT score is valid for three years prior to matriculation, does that mean it is OK to take your MCAT on the summer after sophomore year?

I'm registered to take MCAT this August 20th, and I'll be junior this upcoming fall. I do not plan to take any year off, and I'll apply on my senior year. I've heard of other people taking MCATs on summer after their sophomore year, so I just wanted to make sure if this wording is what I'm thinking.

Yeah, just realize that if you don't make it through on your first try, you'll very likely have to take it over again. If you can push it to the very end of August, even early September, your scores will last you an extra cycle (depending on the date of matriculation at various schools...).

That was my another question. I assumed that three years are fine... But, what about two years? Like:

MCAT - August 20, 2010
Beginning of Jr. Year - Fall 2010
Beginning of Sr. Year - Fall 2011
Matriculation to Medical School - Fall 2012

As you can see, matriculation will be like a month after the "two year" period for MCAT... Would that be a trouble for medical schools? I wasn't sure if two years really meant 24 months or close enough (like, is a month really going to prevent me from applying to schools that have two-year MCAT requirement?)?

Bump.. just wanted to ask if anyone knew if this is OK for schools that have 2-year MCAT valid policy? Thank you.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the "valid MCAT" policy is timed for the application cycle rather than the actual matriculation month. If so, then you're fine, Silverfalcon.

That would make more sense. I'm just new to this whole medical school application stuffs, but I just thought about it other day and kinda freaked out.
