Hey guys,

I have another question. Do any of the Pharmacy or licensing boards check your medical records as well in case they want to check if you are addicted to any medications?

I posted a read a couple of days ago and I am confused about another problem. My 1st case was expunged but since the dean thought that I was a threat to myself, she forced me to use the student health center. The deans office expunged the record but my case still exists as a medical record. I am not sure if I can hide this or not on PharmCAS

Here is my story posted earlier:

Any thoughts?😎

No, the board of pharmacy isn't authorized to view your medical records.

I was concerned about this because during my enlistment in the Army, I got the Uncle Sam Special (TBI and PTSD) and have a few medications I need to take prn. I was reassured by many different people, including Admissions before he had to leave SDN, that they'd never see the record and ask why I had what I had.

I don't think you'll need to "hide" anything from PharmCAS. If it's been expunged, it's gone. Your medical records are sealed. I would think HIPAA would come into play here?

Yeah, I think under HIPAA they would have to ask permission before being able to look at it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Even if they did look at it I'm sure they could tell if it was an addiction or just a prn med like P4S's.

So basically you can refuse them to have a look at the medical record and still be accepted? I have never used any drugs, but what my concern was even though the case has been expunged, it still exists out there in a form of "medical record" for atleast 7 years. If they got their hand on this, they will find out that I lied on PharmCAS and would be done right there wouldnt I? If the case has been expunged, I can legally refuse to disclose it can I?

Just because they are medical professionals doesn't mean that they have a right to view your medical records. They have to have a professional medical reason to view them, such as they are treating you for a condition. Outside of that, nobody is allowed to view your medical records without your consent. So don't worry about it, if there's no paper trail outside of your medical records, you're safe.

Barcelona are the champs now!!!! Did you see that final? Eto, Messi, Iniesta are the S**t in world soccer. I am sure you miss Christiano Ronaldo now. He is in Real Madrid. I am a big Barca fan

The only thing that could show up would be in your criminal record. You will probably have to do a background check after you're accepted, but they won't have access to your medical records and they won't ask for it either.

Why did you lie on PharmCAS?
