I just had a small question about the AMCAS application.

Is it possible to list extracurricular activities that you performed the summer before college started? I'll be volunteering and teaching abroad this summer and need to know if it could be counted on my future application(not that it would affect my decision to go).

Thank you!!! 😀😀😀😀

You are able to list it. You can select the dates and put it down if it's important to you but I used the rule to list only stuff I did from college and after.

Yes. You're allowed to list whatever activities you want and give the start/end dates. If it's significant to you and you count it as part of your college experience, go for it (and you might be asked about it during interviews).

To amend the 2nd poster's rule, list anything post-high school. Think of the nontrads who didn't go to college out of high school and did a lot of things in between.Should they not be able to list their experiences because they took place prior to going to college? List anything post-high school imo.

Agreed.

Gotcha. Thanks for all the answers 🙂

True, but that is for nontrads. The OP is a traditional applicant.

If it was meaningful, I say include it. However, chances are you will need to get rid of something on your app by the time you start listing off the 15 experiences. This might be one to consider getting rid of because of when you did it.

If you don't have 15 experiences, then keep it.
