Medical School Grades??

How big of a factor do basic science grades in medical school play when applying to residencies?

If someone where to have a lot of Bs and a few As and Cs, but very good USMLE scores would this look suspicious??

Not much except for the most competitive specialties where they have to find something to separate the wheat from the chaff since everyone is so stellar.

I would look at a "C" askance but mostly As and B with a good USMLE score will probably not be noticed.
