So, I haven’t found this thread on SDN, but my sincerest apologies if this is a repeat.

If you had to pick one medical school to represent each of the Hogwarts houses, which would they be? Maybe include a brief rationale as well.

If you need a refresher of house characteristics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogwarts#Houses

My List:

Gryffindor- Harvard. Mostly for the old lines, classiness, and leadership. Also, Harvard seems to carry an esteem that isn’t inaccessible. Nice high ranking in both research and primary care, but still an emphasis on research.

Hufflepuff- UCSF. They’re highly ranked in both research and primary care, but I think I associate them more with primary care. They definitely exude hard work, but UCSF also places a uniquely authentic emphasis on taking care of actual humans.

Ravenclaw- Wash U. “Wit beyond measure, man’s greatest treasure”. Definitely heavy on the academics, but the intelligence that I associate with Wash U isn’t void of creativity and innovation, as opposed to the more specific “bookishness” that disqualified a few of the other schools I was considering. Also, I thought their relative one-sidedness in favor of research over primary care was appropriate.

Slytherin- Yale. Obviously this will be taken as an insult, but it shouldn’t. Quality wizards came out of Slytherin (Horace Slughorn), but there is an air of superiority and exclusivity with the house, and I think Yale is a good fit. Also, there is a polar split to their rankings (10 research, 102 primary care, geez).

Gryffindor: Stuck up rich kids whose parents do everything for them. And gunners.
Hufflepuff: Nobody cares.
Ravenclaw: The smart kids who get in when no one even knew they were premed.
Slytherin: Gay drama kids.

Snarky enough?

7.5/10. you could have said something nasty about DO or a specific ethnicity

Anyone wanna make a thread that relates medical schools to all the original 151 Pokemon?

Let's be real, I'm most interested in who gets Magikarp...

I wouldnt want to be that student that goes to Weedle.. or Slowpoke

Gryffindor : Orthopods
Hupplepuff: PM&R
Ravenclaw: Neurosurgeons
Slytherin: Dermatologists

This is richy ironic, considering UCSF has some of the most toxic residencies known to mankind, and Yale championed the P/F system.
