Ok so I've heard and read in various places that some medical schools (Harvard and other top tier institutions being most notable) do not participate in rolling admissions. Does this refer simply to their admission decision release, or also how they review applications? Does it really not matter if you submit your secondary soon after you receive them as long as it is before the deadline?
If this is the case, does anyone have a list of schools that have this policy?

The only significant difference between rolling and non-rolling schools is the timing of notification of acceptees. The internal process is the same. Applications are screened, interviews are offered (and depleted) in either case.

Non rolling means that they do not release admissions decisions throughout the cycle, rather they do so starting on a specific date.

It is still beneficial to be complete as early as reasonably possible because interviews will still be given out at all points in the cycle.

Edit: gyn gyn types faster

Thank you so much for the clarification. I got excited that maybe I could relax on a few secondaries for a bit haha

Some grad schools are non-rolling meaning that they wait until the deadline for applications (December) and then conduct interviews in January/February and make offers in March. Med schools are just too much bigger and have too many applicants who need to be interviewed to do things that way.
