I did a search for this topic and came up with a wide assortment of different things. What I was wondering is if anyone has taken one of these courses in South or Central America and really liked their program. I would like to go for a week, maybe two.

I have looked at the AMSA website and gone through different programs. A couple looked good, one in Chile for instance (Spanish-Medical) and then Medical Spanish Immersion in Mexico. There are a ton of programs listed on AMSA's site however, and I just felt overwhelmed trying to sort them out.

Anyone ever do this and like their program?

I did the MedSpanish program in Mexico and thought it was excellent. Really intense one-on-one spanish lessons will get even a beginner to a pretty good level. Plus, there are experiences in clinics, an ER, and the amublances. In addition, you stay in a really nice B&B which is actually the director of the program's home - it's huge and beautiful. PM me if you want to know more. The main program is in San Miguel de Allende.
