Are these word root books/medical word root books worth while or just a waste of time in one's opinion when it comes to studying memorizing and retaining information? Anyone have experience using said books?

Thanks in advance!

I didn't know there were books like that! During my first 1-2 years of med school, I made a running list of Latin and Greek roots that showed up in medical vocabulary. It was pretty cool to be able to figure out what a word like "telangiectasia" meant by piecing together "telos," "angeion," and "ektasis"

I mostly did it because I love learning about etymology - not because it actually saved me any time.

I just look up "medical word I'm wondering about" "etymology" in Google. Reading a book is not useful, it would be like reading a dictionary.
