medically disadvantaged

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Having a disability that would normally hinder your ability to perform?

^ yea I was not sure if it was that or if it meant you have lived in a medically underserved area??

^ Do you consider yourself economically and/or medically disadvantaged?

Yes - Economically
Yes - Medically
Yes - Economically and Medically

I believe the question is, "Do you consider yourself a disadvantaged applicant?"

Economically means if you've had financial hardships in your life.

Medically disadvantaged means if you've had limited access to healthcare because you live in an underserved area or have been medically uninsured/underinsured. Or, something similar.

It does not mean, "Do you have any medical problems that have been obstacles along the way?" In fact, on your secondary applications you have to confirm that you are physically capable of performing the duties of a physician.

Hope this helps.

^ that is what I was thinking...kind of similar to AMCAS...can anyone else confirm? I will also try calling to see what they say...thanks
