So, I am currently in the market for a new job and I would prefer a more medically related job. I am currently a fourth year student who will graduate next May and hopefully transitioning to medical school next year. Therefore, I am looking for a job that maybe will allow for certification as I work, a job that could be in a hospital or doctor's office, a job in which will be flexible on timing, etc.
I have already tried getting a scribe job, but in my area, a two-year contract is a must and I would only be able to work for about a year if I get into medical school.
Thanks!

EMT, research lab tech, phlebotomist, clinical research coordinator, there are quite a few of them
I've been in research labs for three years, but other than that, could I get a certification while working as an EMT or phlebotomist?
According to most posts here contracts are completely meaningless so go for the scribe position and #yolo.
I was unable to be a candidate for the scribe job because I would not be around for two years 🙁 If only I would have known about the job last year...

Put on some business casual and a white coat, walk around a hospital pretending to be a doctor.

Plenty of people break the Scribe 2-year contract it just means you don't get their fancy LOR for completing the contract. (SO was a Scribe). I worked as a receptionist for a medical office and it was great.

Definitely consider CNA. I think a lot of people overlook it because they think it's just wiping arses and folding wash clothes, which some days in a nursing home it can be. But working in a hospital you get exposure to a lot of different things and a lot of different people, and learn a lot of different things that will help you immensely once you start med school.

If you're interested feel free to PM me. I currently work as a CNA on a post anesthesia care unit (where patients go to wake up after surgery) and it's been amazing. Also have yet to wipe a booty.

Why not find a non-medically related job? You'll be working in medicine the rest of your life.

unless you need help with your application, there are plenty of jobs non-medical that fit what you need. I have no med research experience so I got an IT job in a local hospital a year ago. IT is IT but I figured it cant hurt to have me "around" medicine. I also do some coding for university labs. I needed to polish up my pre-med bonafides so that's why I did it. Otherwise just find a job with the best $ and/or perks you want.

Well, I've been working in retail and non-medically related research for over three years now and I feel I want to dive into the medical field a little more.
I am looking at other options too but theres nothing more exciting to me than the medical field 🙂
