Pharmacy team,

I've had several patients return saying Medrol Dose Packs were no longer available. Does anyone know if/why Pfizer stopped producing them?

Shortage of raw materials. Just change it to prednisone 5 with the same directions.

It's not Pfizer...nobody buys or stocks Medrol brand dosepacks. Not that it matters, due to the shortage of the generic packs, those are backordered, too.

But like OT mentioned, methylpred 4mg tabs are short, too. Prednisone is what you should write for.

According to Cardinal, the shortage should be over by the end of the month.
