Others may have seen this already...might even be a thread about it.

Important thing to consider with interview and away season currently ongoing. It might not always be so well-received to write/email/communicate with PD's following interviews.

I wonder if we are in a time where everyone does this regardless of what the rules are and what programs recommend. I mean...would a PD truly be pissed if someone writes a nice, genuine letter praising the program and thanking them even though they recommended not to? Also, doesn't it seem weird that residency seats are, at least on some level, potentially given/not given based on pleasantries and polite behavior after the interview process is over? Shouldn't it be on merit, performance, LORs, and the actual interview?
 
Message to interviewees: Whatever you do outside the interview, you will be wrong. Send a thank you note through e-mail or through mail, you're wrong. Don't send one, you're wrong.

Post-residency communication: Everything's made up and the points don't matter.
