I have some questions for those who have already submitted. A deadline for a school that I want to is early december. I just took the PCAT sept. 26 and after I saw my results i then sent them to pharmcas. This should take about 6 weeks I'm guessing for the scores to be entered. 5 for the official score and then 1 week for processing. Once they enter the pcat on pharmcas and then I submit they then say it takes five weeks to calculate the GPA and then I guess they send it out to schools. I'm not sure. When this whole process is done it will be very close to many deadlines. Do people esubmit their pharmcas applications before the pcat score is entered and then the pcat is sent afterwards or should I wait for everything to be done. Any advice would be great. I know this is a lot to read.

I'll simplify. If you submit your pharmcas application and send it out to schools before your pcat schools are received do the pcat scores still get sent to all of the schools that you apply to once they are received by pharmcas. And how long after you submit your application is it sent to schools?

Yes, you can e-submit before your PCAT scores are received..it takes up to 5 weeks for your application to be mailed out after the last of your transcripts are in and after you've paid.

So the deadline for a school I'm looking at is early December. Do you think I should just esubmit right now. How will the pcat scores get to the school down the line.

I actually have a similar question. I retook the exam on Sept but want them to look at my July one.....I haven't started applying yet but most of my schools deadlines is in January.....if i apply by the end of October for most of them, that should be enough time to get to the schools I want by the Jan deadlines right?

If you are done making changes to your statement and not going to be adding last minute things to your 'resume', then yes, you should submit. Are all your transcripts in? They won't start to process without them. Likely, your PCAT score will arrive before they finish processing your app..otherwise, they just forward it to the school when they receive it. Same thing with your letters of rec.

I submitted by app on 9/1..my last transcript arrived 9/12..my last letter of rec got added today (10/1)...and my application is still not yet verified and sent. It's a bit of a process, still, even after you hit submit, so you should as soon as possible to speed up the process.

That should be fine..you should set up your account and have all your transcripts sent to PharmCAS first thing..since it's kind of out of your hands how long that takes. Then I would request your letters of recommendation...you can e-submit without them, but just to get the ball rolling. Since you already took your PCAT, you should send it. Then, you can take your time writing your statement and typing in your coursework.. You should probably e-submit by mid-Nov at the latest.

I have a similar question to this thread.

1) My transcript for this semester won't be available until December
I'm taking General Biology 1 this semester and plan to take General Bio 2 next semester.
I already have B.S. in Biochemistry, but since I went to liberal arts school, our programs were little different.
The class called [Cell and Molecular Biology] was our introductory Biology class and it was just a semester long class with lab; and, as you know, Pharm schools require 2 semester worth of general biology courses.
Only good thing is all other transcripts are sent to PharmCAS

2) I'm taking another PCAT in Novemeber
I have taken Sept's PCAT, but I'm not satisfied with the score, so I signed up for an additional test slot in Nov. 8th.

3) What exactly is a supplemental application?

The deadlines for most of schools that I'm applying are by Mar.1st, except for one school by Feb.
When will be the quickest time for me to e-submit my application?
Can anyone answer this?
Thank you in advance.

3) What exactly is a supplemental application?

A supplemental application is a school-specific application. Some schools make it available on their website while others will email the application to you after they received your PharmCAS app and saw that you met their requirement.

Do you mean the earliest time? You can e-submit your application now and have your other courses and PCAT listed as in progress. PharmCAS will forward your PCAT scores after they received them.

Thank you for answering my questions.

I meant the earliest time for me to apply based on my situation, since I won't have my transcript for this semester until Dec. and taking another PCAT in Nov.

You can apply now. PharmCAS has a section for your planned coursework..as long as you'll be done with your prereqs at the end of this Spring (some schools are ok w/ summer session) then you are good to go. I think some time in Dec, they open up PharmCAS for an "academic update" and you can put your Fall grades and send your updated transcripts.

My letters of rec is becoming a real problem. Can I esubmit without entering any letters of rec. and then update later when they are ready.

Something that important I would contact Pharmcas directly about. You don't want to get wrong information.
