Any advice from anyone who has met with the dean of admissions prior to applying? This is more focused on talking with the dean about ED.

I know that this meeting is almost like an interview... What should I expect? What should I prepare? Should I wear a suit or just shirt and tie?

How did you get an interview with the Dean of Admissions before application cycle?

It's not really an interview. It is just more informational because I want to apply ED, however I'm treating it like an interview because it is his first impression of me.

I talked to my pre-med advisor who talked to the dean before I sent an e-mail asking to meet.

Your best bet for help with ED is probably a urologist, not the dean of admissions. Good luck my friend

I've met with a couple deans, always wore a shirt and tie but no suit.

Really depends on context though. If you're meeting with the dean for an early decision interview, don't those usually take place over the summer (like July)?

If you're just meeting to discuss applying and your app in general, just show up in a shirt and tie with a copy of your resume and maybe a pad of paper (again, depends on context). Mostly just be respectful and inquisitive, I doubt he'll knock you for what your wearing as long as you look presentable.

I'd dress as if it's an interview- if not a full suit, at least business casual. Although it's informal, it still is kind of an interview; first impressions count!

If this is Mayo, wear a suit.

New England: Blazer, tie optional depending on stodginess of school.

West coast: Shirt, no tie, pants that aren't jeans or shorts.
