Meeting with Program Director

I'm about to set up a meeting with the program director for my home institution. What is the best way to make a good impression if I want to match at my home program? What should I include in the email to set up the meeting (we've never met before)? I'm a rising fourth year and plan on applying this summer.

The email is that you are reaching out to talk about the residency program and you would like their direct input.

When you talk to them, give them a laundry list of why you think their program is great. Also tell them your 10 year plan… what you plan to do after residency AND why their program will get you to that goal. Give specifics and let them answer in specifics.
