Hey, did anyone hear from Meharry? I heard this from someone: "If you are of any other background but African American dont bother applying" I agree with it... looking at the stats...
nice ppl though. Anyone had interviews so far??

Thats the same thing I heard... I liked the Nashville, TN location but I heard not to bother if you weren't african-american... I was really bummed.

Meherry's history is rooted in the old old days. It is an interesting story if you get a chance to look it up. Anyways..............Meherry is prodominately a minority school. That part is true. However, I would not stop myself from applying to them because of that fact. The last school class had white students. The class before that and so on. To say that you will automatically be turned away is out of bounds at this point.

I think it would be wise to check out a school and learn its history before sending out emails displaying less than accurate information. Meharry was founded by two white males- so for you to say you wont be accepted based on your race is just wrong. Since you dont know anything about the school I wonder what research have you done on any school. They will ask questions regarding why you want to attend dental school at any school, and will expect you to know the history. Meharry is a profound school, and despite what other rejected applicants say they put out all races who succeed and are very well known. Just my advice.

I just interviewed there and out of about 15 there were only 8 african americans. we also met a lot of non0black students at the school. other minorities and caucasians. dont be discouraged its a great school and they wont reject u b/c of race!
