What is the difference between superficial spreading and lentigo maligna melanoma? From pathoma they seem pretty much the same. DermNet makes it out to be like superficial spreading is isolated to the epidermis only whereas lentigo maligna melanoma involves the dermis.. so it is just a matter of radial growth low enough in the epidermis that it also grows into a dermal papilla? Thanks guys.
