Hello, has anyone had any experience with Memorang? I'm looking to buy it, since subscriptions are cheaper than Firecracker. I'd like to know if it's worth it, so please share your experiences, good or bad. Thanks.

Hello!

I've used both, Firecracker is the most famous program, just because it started first, but has gone down hill over time, they haven't even updated thier content in 2 or 3 years (2013 First Aid i think) and it is IMPOSSIBLE to make your own cards, Firecracker also charges you exorbitant prices to use thier content. Memorang is newer to the scene but is growing really fast. Has weekly updated content (2015 First Aid), different learning modes (multiple choice, flashcards, rapid response, matching) and it is easy to make your own cards and study them along with the premium step 1 cards, which is a onetime fee for LIFETIME usage. Just my 2 cents

I am new here.. but IMHO..
Firecracker = great cards + simple format
Memorang = FA and UW (Ctrl +c & Ctrl +v) + gimmicks..they try something called gamification of content etc.
I would say that sucks... also the cards when they are in reverse are not always contextual.
May help u to rapidly mindlessly memorize..but nothing beats Firecracker..

Your description of firecracker is pretty much 100 percent bs.

As someone who has used Firecracker for 1.5 years now, I will say I'm constantly impressed by their content. Going through Pathoma and Goljan, I believe that FC cards cover these sources quite well and if full of detailed explanations. Not that it is the end all resource, but as I've heard someone else say on these boards, its a great way to force yourself to get a decently high score on boards if you keep up with it.
