I'm not sure if it's appropriate to use this forum to request advice, but I'll leave that to the moderator. (By the way, I"m a physician)

I'm 48, I've had 5 arthroscopies for a medial meniscal tear, synovial shelf, meniscal cyst and have about 20% remaining meniscus. My articular cartilage is intact. I have a large rent in my posterior aspect of my patella. My knee pain is still pretty severe.

I know that meniscal transplants are only done when there is no OA. Is anyone familiar with the procedure? Do patients do well? Any idea how long a window I have before I develop OA with my remaining amount of meniscus?

Obviously I've given up basketball, I don't run. I just walk and bike. I'm not overweight.

I've read everything I could find on the internet. I'd love to hear any advice or any suggestions of who has done the most of these. Thanks.
