mention about research in Personal statement?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Depends on what you are writing about. If the experience helps you get your main points across, then yes. If not, then no.

Should warn you that talking about research itself is generally dry and boring. So don't go so much into what you actually did (they could probably discern that from your activities section on AMCAS anyway), but focus more on what you learned, what it meant to you, etc.

Did your research experience have a place in helping you decide to become a physician? Did it help form the person you are today, and in what ways? If not, why mention it. As eternalrage says, don't bore the audience. Even if it led to you winning a major prize, there's room for that information in the narrative portion of the 'Experience' section.

definitely mention it. don't bore with it. relate it to your story of deciding to become a physician.

edit: just noted the reference to the PS...talk about it only if it is part of your story...if it doesn't fit your story--it's ok since it will be on your application elsewhere.
