Mentioning an illness in a personal statement but not be able to identify it???

I shadowed a doctor and saw him treat a patient for some skin illness that no other doctors could treat. They all told the patient that she had to live with it, but the doctor I shadowed prescribed a treatment and cured her~

It was absolutely brilliant, and really inspired me.


However, i can't for the life of me remember the name of the illness.
I believe it was "derma"-something like dermatitis... (almost sure in fact, but I could be wrong)~


Would the name of the illness be crucial here??

Well, it kinda sucks the life out of the story if you can't remember the name of the disease.

(I doubt it was "dermatitis," because that's not usually a very serious or exotic condition.)
