This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was accepted also!! Are you guys all for sure going to mercer?

I'm still considering as i have a few other options as of now. loved the curriculum and professors, was so so on the campus and facilities.

congrats to all those who were accepted! I am hoping I get an interview spot soon *fingers crossed* but I am worried that my stats are not very competitive :\
for those of you who were accepted, could you please post your stats?

GPA: 3.75

Observation/Volunteer: ~200 hours divided over multiple settings (pediatrics, geriatrics, sports, inpatient, outpatient, neuro, ortho)

Happy to say I was just informed that I have an interview coming up January 17th!
How was the interview process? Do you guys have any helpful hints? Thanks!

I just received an email about my interview also!

And I second this person's question. I'm so excited!

anyone know how many spots they have to fill now? for the january interview since their has already been one in novemeber

I have no idea about spots that are filled but the interview is not as nerve wracking as it seems. You have a Q and A with students that is fun, and then you have a group interview where you work together on a problem, and then finally a 2 on 1 interview with a professor and CI where they basically want to get to know you and why you want to be a PT. Good luck!

And my stats are
Overall GPA: 3.8
Pre-req: 3.69
GRE: 157 V 146 Q
Observation hours: close to 200 I believe: 2 ortho clinics and 1 skilled nursing rehab

Thanks for saying that! It puts my mind at ease to know what I'm going into.

I got accepted and am attending as well and I'm so excited! While I had pretty good stats, I balanced a slightly lower GPA and less volunteer hours than those listed above with a lot of service and extracurriculars. I also had a really good feeling about the interview, so definitely don't feel intimidated! They are very kind and easy to talk to, and they really pay attention to what you say.

For those of you that accepted (CONGRATULATIONS!) what are you doing about housing?? I attend a college not in Georgia, and as of now don't know any other students planning to move to Atlanta. While procrastinating for finals I started looking at housing, but wasn't sure if I should just try for random roommates or if there is some sort of way to find other people in our class who might need someone to live with. Let me know if any of y'all have any ideas!

This might seem irrelevant but you should definitely eat beforehand... I was nervous and it didn't occur to me that I forgot until the interview session had already started and then I was super hungry the entire time.

Did you just find out about your acceptance? I'm still anxiously waiting for a call.

A few weeks ago - I interviewed November 15, and got a call that Thursday and was given I think like three weeks to decide (had I not paid my deposit, it would have expired tomorrow).

Good luck! Wishing you the best

I think that at some point there will be a Facebook group for the class of 2018--I searched but didn't find that one had been created yet.

I am originally from Atlanta and will be living slightly north of the city. Housing really depends on what you are looking for, your price range, and how far you're willing to commute. If you want to live close to campus I'm not totally sure what housing is like right around Mercer, but if you are looking at living somewhere else that is more "city" there are so many different neighborhoods that would all be great places to live. If I had a choice I would look at the Decatur area. Not a bad commute (maybe 10 miles away and you can avoid the highway) and a really interesting town--restaurants, boutiques, concert venues, etc. and very trendy. I would also recommend visiting the places in person before leasing just so you can get a better idea of what the area and your commute will be like.

Congratulations on your acceptance!

Okay, thank you! Yeah, someone should definitely make a Facebook group - I would, but I'm not very tech savvy. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Just withdrew my acceptance, hopefully this opens up a spot for someone.

for those of you who have already interviewed at Mercer, I was wondering how long is the individual interview with faculty?

anyone have any idea if mercer will be sending out acceptances this week from the saturday interview?

Thanks!!! 🙂

Around midday I think. The person that called said email*s* would be going out at the end of the day, so I'm assuming yes. He also said admissions packages would be mailed out. Got the call first, then an email soon after

Congrats! Did they say anything about when they'd send emails out about the waitlist?

Anybody received any notification other than acceptance letter?

I'm assuming this week since they said February 2nd. If I don't hear something by Friday I'm going to call and ask.

They are determining whether we make it on the waiting list or not. Rejections/waiting list. And not we wait... again.

did you ask them?

Actually, deposits are due tomorrow (Feb 6) for those that interviewed on Jan 17..... so that determines their waitlist and next round of acceptance

I got into waitlist today, Hopefully I can get in!

Rejection, for anyone else who is looking at this post and feeling defeated.
