Merry Christmas, SDN! Hope everyone has a chance to sit back and relax today to enjoy the holiday! (If you like to do that sort of thing 😉)

I'm about to go whip up some french toast, skype the parents to open presents, and then spend a few hours finding my horse underneath all the mud & hair.

Anybody get any really cool presents? Have any fun stories to tell?

Merry Christmas everyone! 🙂

I to a Carhartt jacket and some other nice clothes last week already. Since I have to work all of this week, we did our Christmas last week already.

And the best present: losing lots f money but in return most likely getting my little kitten back.

Ditto PP!

I got a juicer and a watch made out of wood!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I had to work this morning and got a flat (that I drove on for 4 miles totally destroying the tire) but things got better after that. One of the puppy mill dogs got adopted yesterday and a dog walker took my favorite pittie home for Christmas. My coworker managed to fix my spare which was also flat so I could make it the 25 miles home. For Christmas I got some nice clothes including a hoodie from my favorite rescue (Big Dogs Huge Paws) and some fancy chocolate. So far it's been a good day!

I've had a pretty great Christmas! A Keurig, some movies and books, a $75 gift card to ModCloth.com 🙂love🙂. And from my amazing husband, this: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/109384385. It's absolutely stunning. 😀

And of course loving laying around and enjoying spending time with my in-laws, since I couldn't be with my family this Christmas. I got lucky in that I have really fantastic in-laws. 🙂 And as of June, I'll be living 3,000 miles away from them.

My family spoiled me yet again. Got lots of stuff for my abode, which is nice since the walls are still pretty bare, a new backpack, and some clothes that I was in desperate need of.

As far as funny stories...all I can think of is my grandma talking about how everyone used to brag about her when she was little and how her best quality was her ability to make a killer fire. I thought this was hilarious. No one else seemed to find it as amusing. Oh well.

I'm sitting at home, alone. 🙁 My mom TEXTED me Friday to see if I could 'come for Saturday brunch'. Of course, I had to work and couldn't take it off becuase she gave me 1 freakin days notice. I guess we aren't doing anything else for Christmas? 🙁 I guess by now, I shouldn't be expecting anything from my family anymore.

Glad you all had a good Christmas!! (and lots of prezzies!) 🙂

I'm alone too. Have an invite to a friend's but it's just not the same and I think I'm going to bail. Getting drunk sounds like a better plan and my couch is warm and comfy.
I don't even have a present to open thanks to USPS being slow. At least my dogs got to open their presents? I splurged and bought them deer antlers to chew on.

Not the first year I've spent Christmas away from the family, and it's my choice, but its really bothering me this year and I'm pretty bummed out.

When I told the boyfriend that I could use my Christmas money to make a down payment at the gym, he kind chuckled. I guess he thought that $80 would not really make a dent in what I owe.

He was shocked when I got 5x that amount. :/

I guess his family isn't big into money. Nothing wrong with that. I feel like my folks and grandparents over do it.

Thanks for starting this thread, heylodeb! I got a new backpack and a bunch of stuff for my first semester at SGU! I'm so excited! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day 🙂

For the first Christmas without our grandfather, my cousin had printed some of the best pictures of people with my grandfather from his (the cousin's) wedding a few years ago and had them framed. So nice.

And then I got to go do PM treatments at work (yay holiday pay) and all the animals were generally pretty sweet and well-behaved and clean.

Funny story!
My nanny just got a computer at 66 years of age. My brother was working on it and she went down to check on him. She came back upstairs.
"I learned a new word tonight."
"What is that, nanny?"
"Clusterf**k."

I hear you there. I'm pretty bummed too. It just didn't work out for me to go home. Skype is a lifesaver, but it's never the same. And my Christmas with my family has been postponed until Saturday because my grandpa's in the hospital. (Doing well from what I hear though).

😳 I'm most excited about being able to hopefully spend next Christmas by myself. I hate holidays at home - the stress is so bad.

Regardless, I got a bunch of cool stuff (clothes, a new softshell jacket, games, DVDs, etc) and my mentor and another friend of mine are taking me shopping for Christmas, so I have that to do (and yay anxiety about that!).

Ahh, the holidays...I just want school to start up already...

Merry Christmas guys!!!

I flew home for the holidays (it is the end of boxing day here now). My parents bought one of my flights so that was my big present.

Back to perth tomorrow and to my partner and cat for a sunny, 40 degree celcius late christmas!

HAHAHA!!! This might be my favorite story .

I was on Kangaroo island last Christmas! I'm pretty sure it was 40+ degree Celsius for most of my trip.

I got to spend Christmas driving home from my parents house (3 hours) trying to beat a blizzard. They apparently got 10 inches of snow last night!! I'm so glad I made it. My little kia wouldn't have stood a chance! Oh, and best present? Ipad mini!! I split the price with my parentals.

Toss up between most hilarious gift was: my parents' box full of stuff to make Mexican food with, since there is literally zero on the island- taco shells, salsa, cookbook and these little tins you put your tortillas in and bake to make tortilla bowls OR the fake fur blanket my grandmother didn't want anymore and gave to me😕 At least it's fake and warm?

Thatredhead... so Old El Paso taco kits ain't real Mexican?! 😛

I made some Old El Paso type stuff when I was in Ireland and the doctor I was living with referred to them as "real AMERICAN tacos."
