Greetings Kushma,

I am kinda familiar with that hospital as it was one of the affiliated hospitals in my med school (NY Medical College). Mind you, I graduated from med school back in 2001, so things may be different. Metropolitan hospital is in Spanish Harlem, so the majority of the patient population were hispanic. The service was busy and those residents worked hard. In fact, residents from St. Vincent's Manhattan did rotations in their wards in order to get more clinical experience.

Met residents did get a chance to rotate through other NY Med affiliated hospitals and their various specialties. For example, they were able to do a pediatrics pulmonology fellowship at Westchester Medical Center or a Pediatrics Infectious Disease rotation at St Vincents.

Nardo

No, I'm sorry. I haven't lived in the NY area in a long time. And none of my friends from med school did their residency in that hospital.
