Hi,
I'm applying to anesthesiology residency this year and trying to come up with a preliminary list of programs. I think I have good enough scores/AOA to match at a good program, but I'm not sold on choosing one of the top programs (i.e., Mass Gen) just because I might be fortunate enough to match at one. I realize that the most important factor in choosing a given program is whether it "fits you" or not, but I am curious to know whether having a graduated from a high profile program such as MGH will give you an upper hand in the job market. More specifically, I intend on practicing in the private sector, and I would love to hear from current residents on whether or not having a "good pedigree" puts you at a significant advantage in the job market. Thanks in advance for any info.
