I just got the email from Michigan that I got rejected... After a horrible day at work (getting constantly yelled at by the dentist for small mistakes), I am very very disappointed and depressed.. As a die hard wolverine fan, I have no reason to cheer for my team any more.. I have pretty average stat but I don't have any big holes in my stat (my GPA is very upward curve with nothing less than B+ in my last two years) either, so I am kind of surprised by a quick rejection but apparently many ppl with good stats were rejected. I honestly feel somewhat betrayed my alma mater...
Those of you who's in the same boat as me cheer up and good luck to you!

It's alright, buddy....there are bigger and better things beyond Ann Arbor....I had a blast there during undergrad, but I didn't want to associate the intensity of dental school with a place that I love so much.....You can't stop being a wolverine fan just because the dent program rejected you! GO BLUE!

it seems like U of M only takes the super elite students from their own school. It's like harder to get into U of M if you went there for undergrad.

Hey join me the club! I got rejected from Michigan today. In addition, I am a student from Michigan, too!

I am still proud to be a Michigan Wolverine. However, I am disappointed at my school. There are lots of superb applicants, including you guys; therefore, I kinda have expected a rejection letter later in the cycle.

Anyways, to OP, you have several interviews and will get into dental school! I start to worry about mine because I realize today that NO NEWS is NOT GOOD NEWS.

hey huk, i am in the same boat, got rejected by U of M today. Well you have three other interviews (?) coming up so, cheer up.. (i had two invites so far. both are next month).
Let's hope that we hear good news from the schools soon. Good luck =)

It's very weird that they are rejecting so many high-stat students. I heard that this year they even increased the number of invites compared to last year. ugh...

I dont even think Michigan should be considered a state school....it only places a very SLIGHT preference to in-state, and yet we see people who are still in state (with amazing stats) getting rejected....I wish that Michigan was one of those schools that accepted at least 80% in state and the rest out of state....NOT FAIR 🙁
but whatever, op you seem to have a lot of other interviews so good luck and dont feel down about this school!

Question: I Just got the email from mich for their supplemental essay and stuff... it says i am missing my fee (which they cashed already), all letters of rec (which they shoudl have 2 right now), my DAT scores (sent on august 1, all other schools have em')..... anyone know whats up with that? should I call or are they just slow?

I am from Michigan and also got rejected. I can't think about U of M anymore it is too depressing. Just focus on other interviews and think positively.

Did you open the attachment in word? When I got mine I thought I was missing everything too, but once I opened it in word I noticed that certain parts were highlighted yellow (which is what you are still missing). I ended up calling and confirming that they did have everything, but you might want to check by reopening the attachment first.

Wow, they must have really not liked my essay or that I was from their own school.. because only thing about my stat that is lower than the poster above is my PAT score and that poster's parents are dentists..
I am just getting bitter and bitter from my rejection and time isn't really helping..

Yea, I "was" devoted, obviously not anymore.. I had season tickets to both basketball (although they suck) and football since I was a sophomore.

I think all of us woudl gladly move to texas. I'm moving there when I'm older. The problem is... texas doesn't want us!!!!!
