i decided to stick to FA as a backbone for my micro studying (hope its enaugh) and add to it from the questiobanks whatever is missing. i have access to both, UW and Kaplan for a few more weeks, from my understanding kaplan qb is a lot more detailed, is it necessary ? or should i just stick to UW to add to FA as far as micro goes for the step? would love an answer from those who took the step ... or is there any better way to study for this?

kaplan's micro questions are intense and often very detailed, but you will learn a lot. i feel like i've added a lot of information to my first aid micro section from both UW and kaplan. whether that's really necessary for the test, i'm not sure.
my friends who took the test last week said they felt FA micro and whatever they remembered from micro class was sufficient for their exams.

I thought the micro questions I on my test were pretty straightforward and very high yield subject for my test. The info in FA was sufficient, and the UW questions were very similar. I don't think they were as nitpicky as Kaplan with the details. It was more like here are 2 or 3 symptoms with a lab study- what is the most likely diagnosis. They would give you like 10 choices, so you either knew it or you didn't, but it still wasn't too bad.
