I plan to take step 1 this june, and would like some advice/reviews about microbio resources for the boards. It seems like I have a lot of micro board review books, and I would like to know which ones are essential and which are expendable.
Thanks.

The micro/immuno board review resources that I have are:
-First Aid
-Kaplan lecture notes/webprep
-Micro made ridiculously simple (It was useful for me during the course)
-Levinson and Jawetz Medical Micro and Immuno: examination and board review (I've been told that the "bug list" at the end of the book is very high-yield.
-BRS Microbiology (not sure if I should use this..)
-Blueprints Microbio notes and cases (more for group study)
-Underground clinical vignettes microbio volumes (" ")

Any resources that should be added/replaced?

I have the same question. I sure hope someone answers you.

What about for Immuno? Would the levinson and jawetz book just the immuno section be overkill or is first aid enough for immuno too?

You have too many resources, stick with one and know it well. Micro made ridicously simple is probably more info than you need to know. I used High Yield Micro, and High Yield Immuno and it went well for me. High Yield micro is a great book.
