hi everyone

is microbiology doable in the summer? i can only take this course in the summer since i have a heavy course load and already work 25 hrs a week.
im good in biology and was hoping to take it in the summer to get an A. How many of you would think it is a mistake to take it during the summer?

thanks

Don't take a huge course load and you should be fine.

I am planning on taking Biology 1 & 2 this summer.

If you are good in Bio you should have no problem with Microbiology over the summer. I took microbio over the summer and worked full time and did well. Also the school I took it at was very relaxed over the summer. The class was smaller and the professor really made sure that each of the students were grasping the materials.

Just remember to try and take it at your university and not at a community college.

There's nothing wrong/bad about taking it at a CC, it's all the same for the most part in terms as counting it as a pre-req. Plus it's cheaper which is good with the way the economy is going... I don't know about your school but in my undergrad, it was a lot easier over the summer or so I heard.

I suspect you would be fine if you are working that much and keeping up with classes at the same time. It will depend on the instructor how hard it will be. My micro prof was super easy. You can take the class at a community college unless you are applying to one of the very few schools that wants pre-reqs done at a university.
