Is it acceptable to take this class over summer? Do medical schools care if I take it in the summer? The professor I want to take this class with teaches only in the summer, and I am more comfortable to take his class than others' because I know his teaching method already from my previous and current classes, and have a great rapport with him. I may either work part time or get a paid summer position at my institution. Also, I will be volunteering at a hospital (4 hrs/week) so I will be juggling between this class and other things. Microbiology with lab over summer?

As long as the course material is the same and the lab is real (I can't believe it but my university offers a completely online lab), you should be fine. It will probably be a LOT of work however. Summer courses are rough.
