Hey guys, I just got accepted to the MBS program at Midwestern at Chicago. Anyone have any thoughts about this program? I tried finding a facebook group but I don't know if it exist. Would anyone like to shed some light about this program?

Congratulations on the acceptance! I applied back in November and have since been wait-listed. Haven't heard anything since like late December so now its just a waiting game. It seems like a solid program and is definitely at the top of my list. If you search, there are plenty of threads with information on the program and that (along with the website) is where I've been getting info 🙂

I was accepted in January as well, but honestly do not know that much about it. Still hoping to get off of a dental school wait list

I am currently in the MABS program in IL, the program will definitely prepare you for dental school. The MBS program is much easier than the MABS (1 yr) since the course load is much lighter. I think with the MBS program, you will have a better chance of getting in since most of the students in the 2-yr do get in. From the MABS, they don't give us exact numbers, but usually 1/2 get in. Since you'll be doing research in the MBS you'll get to know faculty and getting a letter from them will carry weight. You can check the block schedule at http://www.midwestern.edu/downers-grove-il-campus/block-schedules.html and check the schedule for the entire year. It's expensive, but I think it is a good option if your app needs a boost. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Do you happen to know how many people who graduate from the MBS program get into MD schools versus DO schools? Does anyone talk about that?
