Hi Everyone,

I have my interview for the MOT program at Midwestern in Mesa next week. I am wondering if anyone who has been through the process has any advice in terms of the kind of questions they ask in the interview, the process etc...

Any tips or insights would be very much appreciated.

Thanks so much.

David

Hi!

I just had my interview at the Glendale campus this past week. I would say the interview questions were pretty tailored to my experiences. In general I think they started off most of us with the "Why do you want to do OT" question so definitely have a solid answer for that. Other than that I would say think about some reasons why you want to go to Midwestern and how your experiences will help you later as an OT and in grad school. Also make sure to think of some questions you have for them too. They will have access to your statement, volunteer, and work experiences but not your GPA I think. The faculty are really nice and try their best not to be intimidating. It was much more of a conversational vibe.

The interviewees are broken into two groups and while one group is doing interviews (they're individual, so the rest of the group just waits outside) the other group does a campus tour. The head of the program also meets with you briefly to discuss your pre-req classes to make sure your file is complete. Then there are some presentations about fieldwork and financial aid and you also have lunch with current students.

Just do your best and show them your passion for OT! Good luck!

Thanks so much. That is extremely helpful. Did they give you an indication of how long after the interview we can expect to hear back on acceptance?

Thanks again!

We got some mixed info for that. One staff member said that it would be a few weeks till we heard back (says that in the website too) and the head of the department said we wouldn’t heard back till February. So I’m not really sure.

They send out acceptances in three waves. The first wave was in mid-Nov. I interviewed 9/27, got in 11/12, and have until 12/15 to turn in my deposit

The other two waves are probably in February, like HI OT said, and May-June
