So... the night before my interview there is a hawks/suns game.
Anyone been to one? Is it close enough to the hotels around the school to go?
Would it be lonely going alone?

I'm a bball fan and not sure what else to do once I get into Phoenix/glendale.
Also, my flight the next day after the interview isn't til 12 at night so I'll be pretty bored anyway ....

Get a cheap ticket on craigslist.org and go. That should be a good game and you will be about 20 minutes from the arena.

Id def go. I was in the same situtation except with a diamondbacks game. I stayed at the Hyatt downtown which was close to the stadium. Getting to places in phoenix is a hassle so rent a car. However I got lazy though and never went.

I would get so bored while at interviews. So bored. iI wanted to do so much while in these cities ill probably never visit again but I had to cut back on spending. I also hated being alone.

Are you renting a car? B/c the area in glendale where MW resides is not exactly close to USAC arena which is in downtown phoenix.

How much does it generally cost to rent a car down there?

I found that the hotels have some shuttles that go from airport to campus right?dont know if spending the extra dough on a ticket + a rental car is worth it?

I also don't know how fun it would be going alone. Never been to a game alone. I'm pretty social and talk to the people around me during games.... but I don't know to what extent I would if I was completely alone!!! haha

or u could just watch it on tv from ur hotel room...although it won't be as exciting.

Ill end up dong that. Just realized my flight getsin at 7:30. 🙁
Hopefully I'll find something to do after my interview. I dont think the hotel is gonna let me keep my stuff there.

Quattro DMD, i just PM'ed you...i hope you dont mind🙂

Personally, I'd get some rest and prepare for the interview the next day. Why stay out late the night before and get all tired? You're not on vacation. Business before pleasure. Go enjoy the town after you've aced that interview. 😉

Good advice. I thought I'd try to relax before the interview since my last interview (the first i've had) I stayed up til 3 laying in bed being nervous. I thought getting my mind away from it and relaxing might help me sleep better!!

Ha.. ha.. perhaps there is no cure for that!
I think I will stay in and watch some TV... 🙂

If anyone knows a hotel that offers shuttle both to airport and to school please do post or PM me.
Thanks!

If you do rent a car and are under 25 expect to pay $60-70 since you will be considered underage and high risk. I found that out the hard way.

If your staying by midwestern and want something to do go to Westgate by the Cardinals and Coyotes stadium. Should be a short drive from your hotel and there are lots of restaurants/bars to check out. BTW if you really want to see the city I highly recommend renting a car, phoenix is too spread out ant public transportation still sucks even with the new light rail. Gluck 👍

I live in Mesa...if you need a place to stay

I actually live in PHX and have Suns season tickets too, what days do you guys actually have your interviews? Man, this makes me feel old...😎

Right on! 😀 Good times for sure! You guys will all do fine, dont stress. Just go in there and just totally crush it :claps:..... It always seems a lot more intimidating than it really is. You will seriously walk out wondering why you made such a big deal out of it.

I'll be done working @ 4:30 that day so I will be at the game for sure:woot:! So if anybody wants to meet up with my group and I before or after the game....I'll let you know where to go, and give you my number. I'm sure we can all scare you guys right back home!

All that jazz of getting a good nights sleep and being fully rested is just a silly myth I think. I didnt go to bed at all before I went into to my interview.....thats how the old school rolled! :highfive:
