Hello! I have an interview with Midwestern during the first week of October and was wondering how the process went for everyone that interviewed on the 18th of September. I heard that they do 2 on 2 interviews. Is this true? Also, do they ask in depth ethical questions or just the general interview questions? Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

Congrats!
My interview with Midwestern U - Glendale is on Oct 23!

I'd love to hear about your experience if you are willing to share. Best of luck to you RhinoDPT!

Congrats Rhino DPT and PTtech0715 for getting an interview invitations!

I have an interview with Midwestern on Nov 6th! It would be very helpful if you guys can share your experience. Best of luck to you guys!

Hi guys! I'm currently in the PT program at MWU-Glendale.
I always said I'd get back on here and help any way I could so here is my advice!

1. They are pretty big on professionalism but don't forget to be yourself.
2. The interview is 2 interviewers and 2 interviewees they will let both applicants answer the same questions and take turns on who goes first.
3. The interviews are not long. So when answering questions make sure that you that you have succinct but well thought out answers.
4. They are really looking for your personality more than anything so a lot of the questions may not be your typical "why do you want to be a PT". I'm not saying that won't be asked, it very well could be depending on your interviewers. Just be prepared to answer questions that are not your typical PT interview questions.
5. As soon as you walk in the door, your interview begins. I know people say this a lot but I also know people forget that in front of the student ambassadors and anyone you meet outside of the 20-30 min. interview.

If you get in and want more information on the program let me know.
Good luck guys! I love Midwestern!

what types of questions would they ask that are "not your typical PT questions?"

Thanks!

I was at the last interview session so I think I can answer your question. I was asked general questions like, "why did you choose Midwestern" - "what life experiences have prepared you for graduate school" - "what was your biggest failure" and also some creative questions like, "if you could be a flower, which would you choose to be" - "If you were a floor mat, how would you be original." There were a few more but I cannot think of them off-hand. It was really a fun process and I feel that the interview went very well🙂 goodluck everybody.

What kind of answers are they looking for with the creative questions?

Those questions are purely after your creativity. They want to see how you think when faced with something unusual. I came up with something pretty creative on the spot and they laughed lol Don't take the interview too seriously. It is very serious in the fact that it is a factor in your admission decision but they want to see your true personality. If you are too stiff and serious they won't see who you really are. Just be yourself and have fun with those questions!! There are no wrong answers.

That is true. There is no wrong answer with those questions, it is meant to lighten up the interview. My first question was "if you could choose one superpower what would you choose and why?"
I can honestly say that Midwestern is not looking for someone with a 4.0 GPA and a great GRE score. I'm not saying those things aren't important, because they are. But even more than those things, they want a well rounded person. In our classes they will even stress that if you can't connect with your patients then you will have a really hard time being successful with them.

If you guys need more information you can message me!

I'm waitlisted, pending future interview.

Edit (did not finish thought): Any others out there waitlisted or know how they go through the waitlist pile (by order of application received or by statistics)?

Are you wait listed as an accepted student? or wait listed to get an interview?

Hello all!

My interview is Dec. 11th. This thread has been amazing, and very insightful! I'm flying out from Michigan so this is a new experience for me

I just got an email saying I received an interview! I went onto the page to request a date but the only one left was January 15th. I'm nervous because I feel like that date is really far away. Anyone know if it's normal for Midwestern to have such late interviews?

I got an email this morning stating I was waitlisted to get an interview. Does anyone know much about what that means? I'm hoping it's not a temporary passive aggressive rejection

I have heard of multiple people interviewing in April of years past and getting accepted. I have heard that the relatively higher cost of Midwestern University's DPT program scares off a lot of accepted students thereby allowing more slots for future interveiwees. However, I will definitely be attending. Midwestern has the nicest facilities I have ever seen!! So in short, you are in a good spot. Book the interview!

I already booked the interview so I'm good to go! I very much appreciate your insight! Makes me feel a lot better thanks! 🙂

I am scheduled for an interview on December 14th! Congrats RhinoDPT and good luck to all of you

Thanks for the helpful info!

Just got an acceptance email today!!! Yay! :soexcited:
If anyone with an upcoming interview would like to know what the experience is like, feel free to send a personal message.

Has anyone who got waitlisted for possible future interview hear back yet? Is it worth emailing the director of admissions just to follow up and mention of fall semester grades updates?
Thank you.

Thank you.

I was already accepted into another program so I will be declining my interview invite. So there will be an interview slot opening up in January! Good luck to everyone!

Put down my deposit today! Super excited about the acceptance and love Midwestern, but still waiting to see how the NAU interview on the 22nd goes. Wish there was more time so I didn't just have to potentially throw away $1000 🤔 Oh well! Good luck everyone

Does anybody know how many people are placed on the alternate list? and the chances of being pulled from that list for an acceptance?

Any information would be great, thanks!

Do any accepted students know if there has been a Midwestern Physical Therapy Class of 2019 Facebook page made yet? It would be great to talk with some future classmates!
