I received notice of my acceptance to Midwestern Glendale earlier today. I am excited but also nervous due to some news that I recieved at the interview. Midwestern received accreditation this year however, they only had a 75% first time pass rate on the boards. Also they are up for accreditation again in 2017 the year I would graduate. Should I be concerned that they will fail their accreditation the second time around? My deposit is due in two weeks so I don't have much time to deliberate.

My guess is that they will work as hard as they can to pass their accreditation the next time around since it would be a lot of money they would lose by not having and accredited PT program. I really don't know about what happens to the students that are there already if they do not pass. I'm pretty sure you can contact the place that does the accrediting which may be able to better answer any questions you may have, and would definitely be more helpful.

My friend is in a different but similar situation. She's applying to SDSU which isn't accredited yet. What she did was call the school and ask what their plan was for the enrolled students if they didn't get their accreditation. The school explained that they had an agreement worked out where they would send all enrolled students to finish out their studies at an accredited partner university. They would be able to take the licensing exam under this circumstance. So I would just call them and see what their game plan is in a worst case scenario 🙂

I just found out yesterday that the second review of the program wont be until Fall 2017 so I would be graduating May 2017 so I will be done right before! Makes me feel much better about the school. I also found out that they restructured the program a lot since their first year so the first graduating class may not have been as prepared as students enrolling in the last two years and now it is a lot better. Thanks for the replies I appreciate the help
