Just curious if there's any other students or people already in the field that deal with migraines. I've had a real bad one all day and it's really hindering my DAT studying. Any tips people have?

Uhhh, not sure how migraines are indicative of burnout... They can happen for a number of reasons not related to studying. I get them occasionally, even on low stress days. I haven't found anything that REALLY helps, and usually end up getting a glass of water and trying to push through. The water is crucial, if I'm too dehydrated it's almost a given that I'll end up with a migraine. I picked up running a few months ago and have noticed a decrease in the frequency of my migraines, not sure if it's related to the running but it might be worth your time to give it a shot. I do agree with Alpha's advice in that if you find that you are getting them chronically while studying you should scale it back a bit.

The strategy depends on frequency and triggers. If they are chronic, frequent and nothing helps, then you are in a tough situation and need to consult neurologist. In majority of cases giving up caffeine and other dietary triggers helps. There is always botox and acupuncture
My advise is to watch your neck and head position - don't be seated all the time looking down

I generally take an Excedrin with a Diet Coke (caffeine) and then lie down in a dark room and either just close my eyes and rest or take a nap. I was suffering from terrible headaches almost daily for a month in the midst of studying for my DAT, preparing to defend my thesis, and studying for final exams. They were obviously stress related and so in addition what I mentioned I went to an Urgent Care (I was desperate lol) and got 2 injections (in my rear end, ha) a steroid injection and another one that I can't think of the name of but was designed to break the cycle of tension headaches. I also started sleeping in a night guard upon my dentist's recommendation because I was clenching my jaw in my sleep. She also recommended cranio-sacral massages to relieve tension. Just a few suggestions!! Headache treatment / management definitely depends on the type of headache and the frequency but hopefully this helps!

You are BURNED OUT. Don't make the same mistake I did. How far out are you from the DAT? If 2 weeks under, what are your bootcamp scores? If you have more than 2 weeks, take TWO full days off

Mid-May. I'm not burnt out but definitely going to take a day or so off.
