Hi!

I have a question on grade. Is min. grade C or C-. I had a C- in Bio. Are they gonna look at other classes to compare or they just deny my application right away?

I'm planning to retake that class next year because I've done well in my other classes.

P/s. My friend has 2 C-, should she wait until next year to apply? (To retake her classes)

Most schools require a C or better in your prereqs. A C- would not be acceptable as far as I know. Can you take Bio over the summer? Most schools accept summer classes.

A C- is not passing (grade point is 1.7) and most schools do not accept this grade. The minimum is a C (grade point 2.0)...so I would suggest retaking the class. I don't think schools would reject your application right away, but make it clear that you have the intention of replacing that grade. Also, retake any pre-req courses if you didn't do so well in them so you can at least have your new grades averaged out.

Even for conditional acceptances, we still have to pass all remaining courses with a C (nothing lower than that).

Thanks. But can I still apply in the summer and retake that class next Fall? Will it be a disavantage for my application?

That shouldn't be a huge issue since on pharmcas you list current and future course work in addition to your completed course work.

I'm pretty sure you can still apply in the summer because with PharmCAS, you would be able to indicate that you will plan to retake that class in the fall. The schools would take into consideration that you will be replacing that C- with a higher grade.
