Okay so I started doing the Minnesota dental school's supplemental application... The limit is 6000 CHARACTERS! Is anyone else as shocked as I am? That's almost 3 pages talking about how you'll contribute to diversity, and about your Withdrawals, and about your lessons learned in dentistry... Individually. That's quite a lot of words to express what you said in your personal statement in such a concise amount of time... Thoughts?

6000 characters is only about 2 pages...I used about 4000-4500 for the essays. I don't think you need to use all 6000 if you can get out the information you need in less. Particularly there is no need to use 4500 characters for your withdrawals explanations, use as few as possible for that unless you have some really crazy circumstances. I think you should be careful not to be too brief with these essays though, as many people may use all the characters and have well thought out pieces of writing.
