Because why not? Everyone else is doing it.
My impressions:
People at both schools were extremely nice and welcoming. Both schools also seem very modern.
Roughly the same price (OOS both), though VCU is a little cheaper.
I liked Minneapolis a lot but I didn't have time to explore much of Richmond. Seems nice though. I'm fine with cold weather.
Right now, I'm not thinking of specializing.

Any insight helps! Thanks SDN people!

If you have a chance to go somewhere warmer for cheaper, go!

That's about the same size as VCU. I liked VCU and I wish I could go there for free lol.

No Pitt?????

Richmond is a great place to live but it isn't a major city like Minneapolis is. The Dental school is great and the atmosphere is extremely supportive. I never looked at Minnesota so I can't compare the two. All I know is that if you have never lived in the north you better really, really like cold weather. I've liven in the north and I will never go back haha. The Virginian winter is good enough for me!

I'd have to look up exact numbers, but I think first year was the same (maybe Minnesota a little cheaper) but then like 10k/year
If you can't decide based on factors other than cost, I'd just go to the cheaper school. Mainly because I feel like I'd be happy anywhere I end up (out of the schools I applied to). Idk if you feel the same but that's just my 2 cents. They're both great schools so you can't make a bad decision!

And it looks like filling out that supplemental paid off for you haha. It was a while ago, but I'm the guy you replied to who didn't bother to finish Minnesota's secondary 😀

From what it sounds like, MN gets you into the clinic during your first year and has a large patient pool. They also do outreach programs and some charitable work ongoing. I don't know how VCU compares to that though. I'm assuming your 10K/year includes cost of living or is that just tuition? I'm going to guess that Minneapolis is a little less expensive than VA, but not sure. How is transportation in the Richmond area? If you got an apartment on the light rail line, you could get to/from school for next to nothing, won't have to worry about parking or even need a car if you wanted to go that far. The Mall of America is in MN

Haha it did!! I'm still in shock! Lol thanks for not finishing it. Who knows, maybe you wouldn't taken my spot if you had :heckyeah:

I just come here for @Weakfart
Jk, I like @hellofuturedentists too

10k just for tuition. I think they're approximately the same for CoL. And oh, trust me, I am very aware of the Mall of America haha 😉 But I actually didn't think about the car thing. I don't think Richmond has the same level of public transportation as Minneapolis. Thanks for the input!

If you live in Richmond you can go to the Gwar bar.

Is it? It looked nice when I was there but I was basically in and out for the interview day.

Haha idk what that is but it's fun to say

Yeah, I really do miss it. If you are into that hipster/artistic vibe, then it is. It has loads of local shops, coffee places, and naturey things all over. If you decide on VCU and need confirmations on where to live i can give you my two cents.
