minor rant - so over the studying!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
June 18 (CK) and 25(CS) cannot come fast enough. Ugh, I say, Ugh!

The thought of not needing to continuously do UW questions, study, or worry about another licensing exam for two years sounds like heaven right now.

If you do well on Step 2, youshould probably take step 3 early, so you dont forget OB, Peds, and, well, everything if you're going into a surgical specialty

I hear ya. Only thing keeping me going is the thought that after getting Step II done in a few weeks, don't have to study for an exam for the rest of med school. Considering the past year has been studying for shelf exams constantly, it'll be nice to be able to just come home at the end of the day and relax. Almost like *gasp* a real job!

If I match at home, we have to complete intern year first before we can take it.

And definitely NOT going into surgery 😉

My own personal rant about doing qbanks and taking these real tests is the eye strain.

not only do I have to stare at a computer screen for hours on end, but I have to put up with the "wall of text."

I seriously think the board examiners set up their questions with poor formatting as a way to lull some people to sleep and then miss crucial information.

Just a minor gripe, but I really detest the "wall of text" style of "formatting" that they use.

The Kaplan Qbank is notoriously horrible for this. They give you 15 lines of mostly normal findings and one pertinent piece of information hidden in there. If you did not pay attention, you lose. While this is fair game and I should just be sharper, it's hard to maintain a degree of sharpness at all times, especially after a long day of rotations
