I was convicted of a misdemeanor DUI 4 years ago and am applying to medical school this cycle. On the primary application I disclosed the details, however on several of the secondaries they ask for the exact same information. I already explained everything so all I really would be doing is rewording myself. I don't want to repeat myself too much or emphasize it more than necessary.

Should I: A) rewrite the summary? B) reference the primary application and paste the same description below? Or C) just reference the primary application?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

If I were reading your application and looking for that information in the spot where I asked for it and you pointed me elsewhere -- frankly, I'd be annoyed. If you wrote it up briefly the first time, just copy and paste. If your first explanation was too long or too short, adjust accordingly. But don't make them go off hunting.

I also have a misdemeanor, mine from 10 years ago (had it been just a few months older it wouldnt have showed up on my background check and i wouldn't have to report it. Lame...) and i have been repeating the basics of the offense on my secondaries. That said, because most secondaries allow for more text on this question, i have been expanding on what i wrote in my primary application and mentioning what i learned and how i grew from the experience. Mine was a pretty significant turning point in my life so i took a lot from my experience. Not sure if the same applies to you

EDIT- i actually just saw what i wrote on my primary. For that response i go into the exact details of the offense, my plea bargain, and what i did to get the case against me dismissed. Then in my secondaries i summarize the offense and that it was dismissed, before speaking about what i learned and how i changed.
