Hello,

I have been prepared to submit my application since last month, but I have been waiting on a LOR from my research PI. I expect him to submit the letter in the next two weeks, but I know on the application, I can make a place for the letter and use that un-'received' letter for all the schools I am applying to.

Can I submit my application, using that letters that is not received yet, and still use it once I actually receive the letter? Or will I have to wait until the letter comes in to submit all my letters.

I do not want to have an application without a letter from my research PI because that would look bad upon me to not have a letter from the PI I have been helping for the last year.

Thank you

Submit now. Schools will not processes you application if you have assigned the letter to the school and your professor has not sent it.

LORs aren't a part of the primary app consideration. Schools don't look at them until evaluating your secondary.
