The dean of students at my school mispelled my name several times in the letter he wrote for me. My name is kris and he spelled it with as Chris. He also left out an important part explaining a W I have on my transcripts. AADSAS already sent the letters out and I don't know what to do now. Should I have him send another letter in to AADSAS and have them forward it to all the schools? Please let me know what you think.

if the letter is already out the door, the damage is done. maybe they won't notice? i'm not sure how much damage control a followup letter would do -- it might even draw more attention to the error. how well did he know you if doesn't know how to spell your name?

tough break 🙁

sorry to say...that kinda sucks....what a dumb dean..i mean we know everyone makes mistakes..but seriously...i think if you have solid stats and gpa it won't do tooooo much damage. I would not bring more attention to it though.

goodluck

No way, just let it go and move on. LORs really aren't *that* important...if you have good numbers, maybe some extras, and interview well you will get in.

yeah..it'll look bad, but i don't think you should send an update...that'll just draw attention to the error, as someone else eaid earlier...

just leave it the way it is, and hope they don't catch it...

Yeah, let it be. Maybe they will think you misspelled your name on the application.
