I remember from the molecular biology of the cell book and other classes that mitosis is only considered as the nuclear division portion of the cell division and so cytokinesis is not considered part of mitosis. But the Kaplan book breaks up mitosis to nuclear division (karyokinesis) and cell division (cytokinesis).

Do you know which one is accepted on the DAT?

In the campbell book it says that mitosis is the division of the nuclease and cytokinesis is the division of the cytoplasm. So go by wat ur molecular bio book says. Mitosis and cytokinesis are the two parts of the mitotic phase (M-Phase) of the cell cycle.

I too am a bit confused on this..I read exactly what you read in my books..and destroyer says it occurs in late anaphase or early telophase..which doesnt help much either

😕
