I recieved a very nice packet with a cover letter and CV from a surg path fellow. Lots of publications, big name ref's blah blah. I suspect it might actually be from someone who posts here, but I dont know for sure.

My point is the concept is called a "COLD CALL" not a "Cold mail me some 2 dollar a sheet watermarked paper with your resume" nor is it Ninja-mail me some 2 sentence paragraph about how you want to practice general surgical path...Your stuff gets thrown into the shredder. I dont even file it.

Do NOT mass mail as your job search. Pick places, call them, send them personalized emails. Send your pic FFS. Send something that shows me this more than you pulling my name off the Alumni mailing roster and sending me more crap I have to shred.

Everyone got this?
thanks.

I think some people like getting CVs instead because they can decide on their own who to call. If I was running a place I'd rather have that and decide on my own. The email is a good idea though.

But then again, I'm a loser.

Here's my cold call CV; you can shred it if you like....
