The phalloplasty technique using a musculocutaneous latissimus dorsi flap when harvested has an a vascular supply and uses the thoracodorsal nerve to anastomose with the ilioinguinal nerve. Would this work? You would be attaching a motor nerve to a sensory nerve. I would think there wouldn't be tactile sensation in the new phallus.
Any thoughts?

Are you trying to move your penis every time you flex your latissimus dorsi? Not sure what you're trying to do here...

No. The procedure is called an MLD Phalloplasty. Part of the latissimus is used to make the new phallus. To provide tactile sensation to the phallus the thoracodorsal nerve is attached to the ilioinguinal nerve. My question is: would this provide tactile sensation? A motor nerve connected to a sensory nerve does not seem like it would work.
Thanks in advance

No. The thoracodorsal nerve is a motor nerve supplying a muscle. Besides possible proprioceptive ability, the nerve cannot supply the same tactile, pain and temperature sensation that a cutaneous nerve could provide. And I would also like to add, this is the strangest question I have ever answered.

Thanks so much. That is what I thought. I'm sorry you feel this is a strange question. There are surgeons in Belgrade, Serbia who are using this phalloplasty technique and claim to their patients that they will have tactile sensation in the phallus after surgery.
