For those who have interviewed at MMI schools, what did you find helpful? Alternatively if you have not interviewed yet/are a current applicant, what resources have you found helpful?

Thought we could make a thread to talk about logistics (most schools I know are 8min per station, 8-10 stations), strategy (summarize question, highlight ethical issues, highlight both points, highlight responsibilities, decision, justify), and interview day tips (do you get a notecard? How do people organize their notes, if at all?) Obviously do not break any NDAs you signed...

Three problems with that video..........

1) Uncomfortably intense eye contact
2) Way too rehearsed
3) Still as a statue

Best way to prepare is to just google MMI questions and read through them to prepare how you would answer. If you read through enough, chances are you will get some of the same (or at least similar) questions in your interview. That's a huge bonus because during the interview you can just focus on how to present the issue instead of trying to also decide what ethical issues are present, who the stakeholders are, what action you would take, etc.

One advice I have is that "traditional" questions are still fair game for MMI. At the very least, know
1) Tell me about yourself
2) Why medicine
3) Why this school

I stopped watching at “Gillick competence principles”...

My post bacc did a mock MMI and it was really helpful to just run through scenarios. Just saying things out loud helps you realize that what’s in your head doesn’t match what you say in an interview. If you can’t do a mock MMI, then just have a friend ask you ethical questions with an 8 min time limit or do a role play scenario. Just find a way to practice. It’s not good enough to just look stuff up.

This might be a dumb question but for the teamwork stations where you have to draw something, do you go through it twice? Like once as the drawer/once as the person giving instructions? I've been watching videos and none of them really address being the drawer but they all say it's another med student interviewing.

I went to a website similar to this one (might even be the same one just updated now) and read through some of the cases in subjects that I was less familiar with and thought through how I would answer. I think I only had one actual "medical ethics" related case, but it was nice to have gone through some of these scenarios.
