Mo-Media "USMLE Secrets" Anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Any company that:

A) Claims their people scored "Higher than the 99th percentile"

and

B) Has nobody on their test research team that has taken the USMLE (even the MCAT)

is probably not worth the cash.

And what the hell kind of quantitative skills are they going to teach you? They show their lack of knowledge of (or regard for) statistics in the first paragraph on their webpage....

Yeah... I agree with you all. It did sound kind of suspicious to me. Just checking.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually know of some people that got it down in Houston TX and got their refunds the day after they purchased it. I mean how can you get a 99 studying a few weeks or days? How can they market such a product in such an extreme manner, well at least the guy is smiling, that seems convincing enough to me!

Yeah, and didn't one of them score high on their civil service exam or something?

Hell yeah. Sign me up.

I looked through it and it is garbage IMO. If I remember correctly they tell you to do a simulated exam looking up the answers in thier notes and then study their notes for a while and do another simulated exam without the use of their notes...

It appeared to me as they are marketing this to major procrastinators who are freaking out a week or two before Step 1 - just exploiting fear and anxiety.

the website mentions that they produce such study guides for other standardized tests. lets say that yearly, (and this is a low estimate) 15,000 people buy their products --at $67, thats one million dollars. these people are out to make money with the ever so popular "magic potion". it takes guts and below average dignity to market and produce junk, but in the end its legal and I'm sure they are smiling.

saw it advertised in a banner ad on sdn, so searched to see any input... found this thread..

since last post was in august, i am curious, has anyone else recently used it or have any input?
